Our Mission

Our mission at Eden’s Way Farm Sanctuary is to provide a loving lifelong safe haven to rescued, surrendered, and abandoned farm animals.

We strive to create a safe, spacious, and peaceful farm setting to promote our resident’s healing, well-being, and flourishing. We also aim to create an inclusive farm sanctuary community for people too – where visitors from all ages and backgrounds can connect with animals, experience their calming and therapeutic effects, and be inspired to make more compassionate choices towards them.

We are a volunteer run, registered charity organization in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada that offers a forever home for rescued, surrendered, and abandoned farmed animals. The Sanctuary was founded in July, 2019 and received registered charity status in 2022, and it is funded solely by kind people who care about farm animals.

We currently care for over 60 residents including cows, horses, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkies, peafowl, and rabbits.

Our Story

Eden’s Way Farm Sanctuary began as a dream for its found, Jaye Dueck, who has deeply cared for animals since her childhood growing up on a ranch in Northern Alberta. Although, life led her into a different world of city living, academia, and a career as a psychologist, her heart increasingly longed to return to a farm where she could establish an animal sanctuary.

In July 2019, this seemingly impossible dream came true, when she and her husband, Murray Dueck, purchased and moved to a beautiful 20-acre hobby farm nestled between the South Thompson-River and sage-filled hills in Kamloops, BC.

Within, their first week on the farm, they saved 2 horses and 2 dairy calves and since then have slowly grown, rescuing several farm animals from dairy cattle to rabbits. In September 2020, the sanctuary became a registered non-profit organization.

Since that time, the sanctuary has grown – both in rescuing more animals and developing educational programs and activities for the community. On February 2, 2022, Eden’s Way Farm Sanctuary was privileged to receive designation as a Registered Charitable Organization in Canada.
