OTHER VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
JOIN OUR ANIMAL CARE TEAM
We rely on a small but mighty team of regular volunteers to help take care of our animal residents year around. Currently, we need volunteers (up to 3 to 4 people) to come out on weekend mornings for 2 to 4 hour shifts between 9am and 1pm. We also ask for a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly commitment for at least 3 months. This volunteer work primarily involves cleaning the paddocks, shelters, and the rabbit house, as well as changing/cleaning water and food dishes/buckets.
JOIN OUR GREEN TEAM (APRIL TO OCTOBER)
For those of you, who have a ‘green thumb’ and the necessary skills, experience, and physical abilities, we also need volunteers to assist us in gardening (to grow seasonal vegetables for the animals), weeding, landscaping, and even pasture/habitat restoration (the latter involves removing sage, weeds, and dead wood from the upper property where the cows graze and does involve a bit of a hike up the hill). We would love to get 1 or more individuals to come out for week-end shifts (2 to 4 hour shifts between 9am and 1pm, on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis).
JOIN OUR REMOTE TEAM
There are lots of ways that you can also volunteer remotely – either on a regular basis or for a special event or project. We need help with all sorts of work, such as sanctuary administration, fundraising, marketing, educational activities, and community events.
Once we receive your application, we will contact you as soon as possible to schedule a phone, zoom, or on-site meeting with the sanctuary’s founder/executive director to review your application, to provide more information about the volunteer position(s) that you are interested in and to discuss the next steps.
Please note, submitting this application form does not automatically register you as a volunteer and there is no commitment required from you at this point. After meeting with you and it looks like our volunteer program is a good fit and you are interested in continuing the process, we will ask you to then sign the necessary paperwork i.e. the Liability Waiver and Volunteer Agreement Form. An orientation will then be arranged for the volunteer position you will be doing. The animal care volunteers will be provided additional shadowing to ensure the safety of both you and the residents.
